Jacob's Riddles

Jacob had a ton of fun making up riddles in his 3rd grade class. We thought they were pretty great and Tyler thought I should post them on the blog, so enjoy!

1-He is funny and cute
He is my cousin
He is brown like chocolate
Who is he?

answer: Christian

2-He is a dog
His teeth shine in the sun
My cousin loves him
Who is it?

answer: Rusty

3-He is Big and Jolly
He laughs with a HO HO HO
He is busy like a bee
Who is he?

answer: Santa

4-She is sweet as Honey
She is nice like a flower
She is busy like a bee
Who is she?

answer: My mom
(I really like this one)

5-He is wearing my favorite color
He makes toys
He works with Santa
Who is it?

answer: Santa's elf

I am sure I am not quite as good at riddles as Jacob, but I have to give it a try so here it goes.

He is funny and can make everyone laugh
He is a great friend and kind to all
When I see his toothless smile, I smile too
Who is he?

answer: My very special Jacob!

Madison's 11th Birthday!

On November 8, 1998 Madison Suzette was born. We were so thrilled to have a girl and to have her arrive so healthy even though she was 4 weeks early. She has been such a joy and help to us. Every mother needs a daughter and I am glad I was chosen to be her Mom. Madison is growing up to fast, she is becoming such a beautiful young lady. Here is a recent picture of her after getting her perm.
Birthday Morning, opening her presents.
What could it be?
Cheese!
Madison's birthday was on a Sunday. We got together for our monthly Forbush Family get together and celebrated her special day with cousins, uncles and aunts and Grandpa and Grandma Forbush.

Two cakes so we could have enough for everyone!!!
We love you Madison!

Halloween 2009, I'm just a tad slow!!!

Now that I have Christmas music playing I guess it's time to post our Halloween Pictures. About a week before Halloween we went to some of our friends house to carve pumpkins and had a great time. The night before Halloween someone decided to steal our carved pumpkins off our porch, not sure why. I thought we would find them smashed somewhere, but they were no where to be found. So.... Halloween afternoon we had to go buy more and carve them or I think Kaden would have not made it through the day. He was so looking forward to lighting his pumpkin with a candle. I was very grateful for the nice weather so we could carve outside.
2nd round of carving, probably good since I didn't have my camera the first time!

Mark's office has a great time dressing up each year for their patients. This year they decided to all be rock stars. Mark was very excited about his Michael Jackson costume. He looked great and I think had fun playing the part. He is pretty good at the moon walk.

Madison was Bat Girl, she looked great and it was something totally different for her. She had a great time trick or treating with her friends.
Jacob and Kaden were Mario and Luigi. They looked so cute. They had a fun time trick or treating with some of our neighborhood friends the Pugsleys. I went with them this year as it was a little warmer and I like to save the cold years for Mark.

The Rest of Our Family Vacation- Aug 2009

I'm just a tad slow on this post.....but I still wanted to do it. After we spent a few days in Lake Tahoe, we headed to Yosemite National Park. It was quite the drive, lots of turns and curves and well you can only imagine what happened. We were glad we were prepared with ziplocks. Once we finally got there... we had a good time. So many hikes to choose from.
We hiked to Vernal Falls, 2 miles up and 2 back. We also hiked to the base of Yosemite falls, only 1/2 mile there and then 1/2 back.
It is so beautiful there... how could anyone question that there is a God.

Amazing scenery and my cute family.

I love the grins...we made it!

The boys loved climbing all the rocks. I think this is better than any playground.

It was so fun to see these deer, they let us get so close. Tyler loved taking this picture, he didn't even have to zoom in.

Mark and I sitting in front of one of the Sequoias in the grove.

Tyler found this pine cone that he thought looked like a phone. He told me to take a picture because this might be as close as he will ever get to owning his own cell phone.

This was my favorite Sequoia. It was just fun to walk through a tree. Most of the tourist(which it seemed like a million) only went to this point of the hike. For some crazy reason we thought it wasn't going to be that long or hard to continue on to the Mariposa grove and the famous fallen tunnel tree.

This is the Oldest Sequoia. It was around during the life of Christ. Pretty cool!

Gigantic tree, makes you feel pretty small!

The Famous Fallen Tunnel Tree. This is the one that people use to be able to drive through. Wow! Glad we did the hike, but boy it was hard. It was at least 4 miles hiking up to this point. 8 miles round trip. Our kids were troopers! They were so tired and so hungry, we all were, but we made it!!! It was a great once in a lifetime experience!

First Day of School-2009

School didn't start until August 31st this year, which means we won't get out until June. I can hardly believe all my kids are in school, they are growing up so fast! I thought having them all in school would mean I would have a little time to myself, but it hasn't quite happened yet!
Kaden started Kindergarten this year, he only goes 1/2 day so we still have time together and he gets a little down time before the kids get home. His Kindergarten teacher is Mrs. Holdaway. It is her first year at Discovery, but she has been teaching for quite awhile. Kaden really likes school, his only disappointment is not having his best friend Gavin in his class.

Jacob is in the third grade! He loves his teacher Mrs Nelson and is extremely happy he has almost all of his friends in his class. He is such a social bug and loves to play with both the boys and the girls. He has had way to much homework already due to the fact that he socializes to much and gets distracted to easily.

Miss Madison is in the 5th grade which means she is one of the oldest in the school. I think she kind of likes this. I like it because she can be the dependable big sister and make sure her brothers get to school safely. Mrs. Becki Korth is her teacher and a few of her friends are in her class. She too is most disappointed that her best friend Sarah is not in her class.
Tyler entered Box Elder Middle School this year and is in the 8th grade. WOW, can he be that old? This year he seems to like most his teachers so far and was thrilled to have his best friend Hunter in one of his classes. He was excited to go back to school mostly to get away from the slave driver-me! I think he likes school work better than all his summer jobs. Tyler was excited to have contacts to start the new school year.

Peach Days 2009

I still plan to post from our Yosemite trip and the first day of school, but thought I would share just a small part of Peach Days first. Mark is the Chamber President this year and so we had a BIG part of Peach Days! The theme was "Having the time of your life". I enjoyed being a Hostess for the Peach Queen Pageant again this year. I really enjoyed the two girls I got to help and be "Mom" to. I was very impressed with all the girls that ran, what a great group!!! Mark did an amazing job with Peach Days, one of our favorite things was the Jon Schmidt concert. Mark is a big fan and thought that he would be fun to have come. He was right! Biggest crowd ever at a Peach Days concert. Another highlight this year was having the govenor, Gary Herbert, come to Brigham and be in the parade. Mark and several others went to the Capital and invited him to come with only one bribe-PEACHES! I guess they were good!!! Madison, Jacob and Kaden all walked in the children's parade on Friday night with other Discovery Elementary Dolphins. Jacob carried a flag with other cub scouts in Saturday's big parade. Thank you Micah, Tiffani and family for coming Friday night, we had fun celebrating Rebekah's birthday at Peach Days. Thank you Dad, Mom, Melanie, Justin and Juliette for coming Saturday. We have such amazing family support!!! Just a few pictures... I didn't to do great with pictures again!

Peach Queen Pageant... these are the cute girls I got to help. They both did super well and are very talented. They were so fun to be with, thanks for letting me help!

Madison had a soccer game at 8:30 Saturday morning in Lewiston, about 1 hr. away. She did AWESOME! She scored 4 goals, and yes her team won! Way to go HOT PURPLE PEPPERS! We made it back in time to see Jacob in the Parade!

Jacob carried Indiana's state flag.

Lake Tahoe

We are having such a great time on our Family Vacation!!! We arrived here at the south end of Lake Tahoe Saturday night, after a 9 hour drive. The Kids did amazing in the car and have been getting along great since we arrived, what a miracle!!! If they keep it up we just might want to do the whole family trip thing again in the future! Thought we would share some of our fun pictures from our last few days adventure.

It is so beautiful here! I have never seen anything quite like it. Mountains, pine trees, the lake that has some of the most amazing colors of blue, and then the clear blue sky!

The kids jumped off the boat in Emerald Bay! The water is a little cold!

Riding on the boat! Mark had a great time driving, he was pretty great at it too!

My amazing kids!
They had such a great time on the boat. I am glad they got the love of water from their Dad!

Since swimming lessons, Kaden has become very brave in the water. After watching Tyler and Madison jump off the boat, he wanted to also. He didn't even hesitate. When he came up he had the look of terror on his face. I don't know if it was the cold or if it was because he went down pretty far before he came up, but either way he was so anxious to get back on the boat. Jacob wouldn't jump in because it was too cold. He is definitely my son!

Mark and Tyler decided to do something a little out of the ordinary and try parasailing. Tyler was a little nervous, but Mark was so... excited! Mark captured this great picture of Tyler up at about 1200 feet. They both loved it and thought Madison and I should try it. Maybe next time!

Going out on the boat to Parasail!

Having a great time at the beach! The paddle boat was fun, just a little exhausting. Maybe we are not in the best of shape. Our favorite part of the paddle boats was when we had two 11 year old boys ask us to race. We think they just thought Madison was cute, because when we ended up in a tie they both made sure to give Madison a high five! I think this is just the beginning.

The kids worked on this volcano for a good hour!

We love the place we are staying, it is so family friendly!
